The Oscars: The Award For Best Red Carpet Moment Goes To...

Updated: Apr 6

The last 2 months have been busy, packed with fashion (more for me to talk about) and as always, the entire awards season has led up to tonight... The Oscars. This is the biggest night in Hollywood and the film/entertainment industry by far, but more importantly - at least to me - it is my second favourite night of the year in fashion; we get to see glamour, sophistication, elegance and timeless evening-wear at the Oscar's red carpet, then only a few hours later, we witness drama, camp, fantasy and playfulness at the after party, hosted for the last 30 years by Vanity Fair.

Tonight, I will be covering every single look from both red carpets - so once you are done here, head over to my Vanity Fair After Party post - breaking down every look and deciding who wins my awards. As always we'll wrap up with a top 3 and bottom 3, but for now, the nominees for Best Dressed on a Red Carpet are:

Best Dressed

1/18

Hailee Steinfeld in Elie Saab

Wow, what a way to start the red carpet. I can't quite tell if this piece is a solid, structured metallic corset-esque top with the rest of the gown falling from beneath, or if it is all just fabric with beautiful embroidery. Either way, it is breathtaking, and if it is the latter (which seems more likely) it is an incredible creation, managing to create such a gorgeous. fitted silhouette and be cut so low without shoulders. The blue, floor-length chiffon combined with the subtle, yet intricate and detailed golden embroidery looks ethereal and regal whilst remaining quiet. Obsessed.

2/18

Eva Longoria in Tamara Ralph

This piece is a custom Haute Couture column gown from Tamara Ralph, who are really stepping it up with their celebrity/red carpet dressing this season. The dress is in a black velvet, which hugs the body beautifully and looks ultra glamorous. The neckline is in a scooped off-the-shoulder style and extends dramatically into points out beyond the body, which just adds that necessary element of intrigue and drama to a simple (still beautiful) gown.

3/18

Rita Moreno in Badgley Mischka

An icon, being iconic. Here, Rita is wearing a black velvet gown with a slight train, which is adorned with pleated black taffeta that climbs vertically up the body and culminates in an explosion of the taffeta, which looks almost floral, surrounding the entirety of the bust and shoulders. She has accessorised - her stylist being Rebecca Ramsey - with black velvet gloves, a gold bracelet and seashell earrings, which are so minimal, but add a final touch to such a wonderful look.

4/18

Liza Koshy in Marchesa

I don't like seeing influencers, Youtubers, or 'content creators' at these type of events, but when they show up and bring the fashion, they are almost forgiven - granted, Liza is practically a staple at events by now - and today proved my point. Forget the moment she fell over in front of photographers, this Marchesa Couture mermaid gown is quite the moment. The dress sits off-the-shoulder and features two large floral embellishments - that feel very Valentino, might I add - which become the focus of the gorgeous look, and I'm not mad about it.

5/18

Leah Lewis in Lever Couture

This is a really confusing moment for me, at first glance I adored this dress, then upon closer inspection I started to feel that it was careless, cheap-feeling and not nice to look at, then something hit me and I just got it. The piece is truly a candy-pink confection that transcends the red carpet, entirely constructed from horsehair ribbon. The way the ribbon is folded and layered creates an immense depth through its natural movement/curve of the material and countless shades of pink. The glossy sheen of the ribbon makes the entire piece glow like a little candy and the train falls from the hips as a sea of pink with a life of its own.

6/18

Celine Song in Loewe

Celine has really been killing it this season, as director of 'Past Lives' she has taken the red carpet on with a different approach than we usually see from actors and actresses. This feels like a very fitting end to the run, having seen her opt time and time again for simple, tailored black looks with a pop of a white collar or cuff. I love the fit here, the length of this skirt feels unexpected with this cropped blazer, but somehow works perfectly, with black tights and loafers. Upon closer inspection, you notice the navy blue parts like the lapels, or panels of the skirt; it's so subtle it might go unnoticed, but proves yet again that blue and black CAN work together!

7/18

Emma Stone in Louis Vuitton

What a day for Emma Stone, she won her second Oscar for Lead Actress and FINALLY made the best dressed list - which I never thought would be possible, whilst being dressed by LV - in this dramatic peplum corseted bodice and matching skirt. The silhouette is new and unexpected, taking the peplum trend to the max, whilst still shaping the body with the corseted top and fitted pencil skirt. Look closer and you can tell that this is not just a simple pale turquoise fabric, but a detailed embroidered/lace lays over the base fabric adding depth. At the start of the year, I predicted peplum would be everywhere and I dreaded it, but I have come round to the idea, particularly this iteration of the style.

8/18

Anya Taylor-Joy in Dior Haute Couture

Natalie Portman wore a direct replica of Christian Dior's iconic 'Junon' gown during the Cannes Film Festival last year, and now Anya Taylor-Joy has taken on its 'sister', with a Maria Grazia Chiuri version of the 'Venus' gown - which is also from the same collection by Christian: Autumn/Winter 1949 - that is both a fresh take on the gown and a respectful recreation in-keeping with house codes. Take a look at every single petal on this dress and you'll notice the unbelievable artistry and pain-staking detail that has gone into every inch of the piece. I love the more natural and modern take of this look, Maria has a knack - not always a good thing - for making something a little more casual and wearable for the modern woman, with this straight-cut skirt. Honestly, I will just never get sick of seeing new takes on 'Junon' and 'Venus'.

9/18

Colman Domingo in Louis Vuitton

My 'Oscar for Best Male on a Red Carpet' this season goes to... Honestly, I rarely get excited about men being at events (fashion-wise), but over each awards ceremony these last two months, Colman showed up with a different energy every time and delivered an incredible array of fashion moments. I feel like this look is the natural conclusion to this season - hoping that we get something more dramatic and jaw-dropping tonight - and very fitting for the Oscar's, being his most classic men's silhouette yet. Double breasted is always a yes for me, those buttons are truly magnificent, the styling of the shoes as well as the brooch bow-tie is the fabulous Colman touch and the fit of the entire look is perfect; am I actually starting to like Pharrell's Louis Vuitton?

10/18

Florence Pugh in Del Core and Bvlgari

FINALLY, Florence has ditched the chiffon Valentino gowns and done a complete 180 and I am obsessed with every single thing happening here. She is wearing Del Core which is a smaller young brand out of Italy which is a refreshing choice. The look itself consists of a silk, high-waisted skirt and a structured, sheer bodice - adorned with countless crystals in silvers and pinks, which can also be found towards the top of the skirt, that ombre from sparse to more concentrated as they reach the fully crystal bodice, tying the look together beautifully - that also features floating shoulder straps (something that we are seeing several times today; is this a new trend?). Overall, I think this is a really complementing shape and silhouette for Florence and that top is just exquisite.

11/18

Ariana Grande in Giambattista Valli

I think it's clear from this look that the Wicked press tour has begun, not only with Ariana as a Glinda-worthy vision in pink, but Cynthia Erivo (our Elphaba) in an equally dramatic green gown. As for this piece, I am in love. I am so happy to see Giambattista Valli move away from the tulle princess gowns, that were worn to death during the late 2010's, and towards this equally fabulous yet more intriguing silhouette. The main dress here is quite simple, a blush pink, strapless column dress with horizontal pleating all the way down, which is fun - and I would love to see it on it's own - yet it is the oversized wrap-train-coat that steals the show here and creates such a compelling fantasy.

12/18

Xochitl Gomez in Hassidriss

So, I don't know who this is, but i know she is serving and that I want to get to know her. She is giving us Marilyn Monroe meets Gabriella Montez in all the best ways and I can't get enough. The gown is from Hassidriss - a couture brand by Hassan Idriss, who worked with David LaChapelle and Alexander McQueen, which focuses on exquisite detail and luxurious fabrics - and is so subtle yet so intricate. The dress seemingly uses silk chiffon to wrap around the body, creating an art-piece on the model, for example, the fabric at the waist wraps around and over the shoulder, before falling as a cape. The fabric from the bust also wraps around the neckline like a french silk scarf before also falling behind into the cape. The draping and wrapping of the fabric looks so casual and simple but it falls with such intention and character. The golden finger jewellery is stunning and the perfect piece to not distract from the dress. This just goes to show there really is nothing quite like deep shades of red on brunette women.

13/18

Zendaya in Armani Privé

I am so happy that Zendaya showed up today, after a long run of serving look after look for the Dune 2 press tour, I expected her to take a break, but it seems she is set on carrying the world of celebrity fashion on her back this year, with a guaranteed appearance at the Met Gala with her as a co-chair... Of course today was never going to be as strong of a look as the iconic Mugler moment but I still love this. It is an asymmetrical , very form-fitting, one shoulder gown with two main components; half of the body seems to be almost a strapless corset bodice, covered entirely with silver sequins, with the rest of the gown being a glossy pink organza that is draped to gather at the opposite hip. The silver sequins are continued through palm leaf motifs on the pink, which for a second made me assume that this was a subtle announcement she would be in White Lotus season 3, don't ask why. Finally, not to comment on someone's body unwarranted, but OH MY GOD she looks drop-dead gorgeous.

14/18

Margot Robbie in Versace

I feel like this is a funeral look and I am hoping and praying that it is the end of the barbie era. Margot has been through so much, what with the shackles of her Chanel contract, only to escape it to be forced into a wardrobe of pink mediocrity, perhaps now she will begin to serve - I guess we'll find out at the After Party... Today's look is right off the runway from Versace and of course looks good, but yet again, it doesn't excite me in any way. The corset fits but isn't doing anything fantastic, the colour and fabric is so dark that you can't really see anything going on, so the scooped draping, that looks almost like wet leather, is completely lost and her hair/glam team seem to have missed to brief and haven't aligned with the vision as always. Disappointing, but somehow one of her best moments yet?

15/18

Carey Mulligan in Balenciaga

And the 'Oscar for Best Woman on a Red Carpet' goes to! Honestly, Carey Mulligan has looked amazing all awards season, and after the Armani Privé moment at the SAG Awards, no-one thought it was possible to beat, but might I say she has? This look from Balenciaga is a direct recreation of an iconic 1951 design from Cristobal Balenciaga himself, it is literally a bodycon black velvet dress and gloves with of course that mermaid-style, white tulle skirt which is unforgettable. Essentially, it's really simple and goes to show that you really don't have to be doing the most to have a fashion moment, you can be iconic without being loud. This is probably the first recreation I have seen where the model looks exactly as the fantasy was portrayed in the original, it looks timeless and if you didn't know the actual dress was in Tokyo in a museum, you would think for sure that this is the real deal.

16/18

Greta Lee in Loewe

Greta Lee has been another firm favourite throughout this season, and this look might be my favourite to date. It is perhaps the most quintessentially glamorous we have seen Greta (not to say that she has't looked more beautiful in other looks) but something about this screams femininity, grace and opulence. The black and white is perfectly on theme for the Oscar's, the dress itself is also straight off the runway from Loewe and is essentially a black column dress with a low back (something Greta has done a lot this season) with white fabric that sits on both hips and falls to the floor, framing the legs - which I think also creates pockets?! - and also sits around the front of the neck, falling down as a train. So simple, yet so chic.

17/18

Laverne Cox in Mugler

Laverne Cox in Mugler is iconic, but it goes much deeper than this look, she has been collecting vintage Mugler pieces for her own collection for 5 years, already resulting in over 500 pieces!!! I love vintage fashion and I love celebrities wearing vintage pieces on the red carpet, but for a celebrity to have such passion for a designer that they collect their pieces to this extent is such a rare thing. Laverne has loved Mugler for the last 30 years, which she told Vogue this year, as she started collecting with an hourglass blazer from the AW88 collection by Thierry himself - which she now has in at least 3 colours - being so passionate and obsessed with his construction, architecture and silhouettes. I can only assume then, that this look is the original piece from 1985/6 and I love it. It hasn't photographed perfectly on the red carpet, perhaps it's the lighting that is responsible, or it might be that this vintage piece hasn't been perfectly preserved over time. Of course this piece isn't new, but it's on trend, with a lot of the looks today featuring that draped, silk chiffon style across the front of the neck that falls into a train/cape behind the body.

18/18

Billie Eilish in Thom Browne

I am always going to be biased toward Billie, but this look speaks for itself. This was billie's second look at the event, which she wore for her performance of "what Was I Made For' that unsurprisingly won her and Finneas their second Oscar tonight. The performance was everything, and this look was equally stunning, a full Thom Browne outfit that demonstrates the brand's unbeatable tailoring and immaculate attention to detail. The shape and fit of the oversized patch pocket overcoat in black denim ribbon tweed is beautiful, the dramatic popped french cuff is amazing, the pink bow at the neck and the pink socks are the cute nod to Barbie this look needed.

I am so so so incredibly happy with today's best dressed section. We have been in desperate need of some simple, beautiful, solid looks for a minute and the girls showed up to deliver. Spoiler alert, Carey Mulligan is ABSOLUTELY our winner for the Best Dressed award this afternoon, that vintage Balenciaga reference was just executed immaculately and is without a doubt in my favourite few looks of this entire awards season.

Middle Ground

1/11

America Ferrera in Atelier Versace

This gown does fit well and makes America look fabulous, plus that metallic pink is great but for some reason it falls a little flat for me, the body isn't contoured in a way that is exciting, the legs could come in a little more, the almost chainmail fabric falls heavily to the floor like a puddle and the neckline doesn't appear very flattering to me - granted it is a quintessential Gianni Versace neckline - so whilst she looks good, this isn't a moment I'll write home about.

2/11

Sandra Huller in Schiaparelli

Of all the Schiaparelli pieces we have seen this awards season, this is one of my least favourite, mostly just because it is dull in comparison to Daniel's other crazy, kooky designs. Sandra is a brand favourite of Schiaparelli, so I'm sure they could have sourced something much better for her. The dramatic extended shoulders feel too unnatural for a Schiaparelli piece - I know, Daniel Roseberry does some wacky thing at the house, but all of them feel organic; there is a huge difference to me between surreal and unnatural - which is taken away from by the seemingly token gesture of the crystal keyhole. I feel like that Schiap-isms like keyhole and body-part motifs always seem to make sense, with a purpose, but this keyhole seems slapped on so you know which brand it is. Even though I don't think it's anything miraculous, it does fit immaculately and she looks amazing.

3/11

Vanessa Hudgens in Vera Wang

Rihanna has undoubtedly changed the world of pregnancy reveals and pregnancy dressing and I love it. This gown feels so new and fresh for pregnant celebrities; a tight, bodycon dress that feels incredibly sexy in a phase where many women feel the need to hide their body or have lost their confidence in it. The fit is perfect and Vanessa is glowing yet it just feels like we could have done something EVEN more dramatic.

4/11

Lupita Nyong'o in Armani Privé

This gown was actually made to be worn by Lupita in 2020, but it was never used so is being brought back now, thankfully - as I'm sure a LOT of work went into this. This shade of blue is divine on Lupita's complexion and the crystals are making her shine and shimmer in the lights. We also have feathers, which are relatively simple, placed perfectly to accentuate the hips and create a framing at the floor, yet aren't too much combined with all the crystals. The only issue I have is with this sequin/crystal lining down the centre of the dress; perhaps it's integral stitching that is holding the garment together so Armani thought they would attempt to make a point of it, but for me it distracts from the beauty and flow of the gown (which already has plenty going on).

5/11

Cynthia Erivo in Louis Vuitton

Ariana's 'Wicked' counterpart showed up and played into the fantasy, which I love - especially seeing this method dressing become more of a trend - but it just didn't quite live up to her look today. It's a full leather look in green, which we NEVER see, as leather is incredibly hard to work with and I think we have seen that here, the ruffles look really cheap/lumpy to me and the body of the dress is put together in weirdly shaped pieces that don't look very nice, likely because that is the only way the dress could be formed fully in leather. I truly adore Cynthia, so it's hard to bash anything she wears, unfortunately to me it's just not very nice to look at. If nothing else though, at least it's bold, it's memorable, it's dramatic and it fits perfectly. I will also say that she certainly win the 'Oscar for Best Nails' today.

6/11

Jamie-Lee Curtis in Dolce and Gabbana

*Yawn* This is nice, but just too simple. There isn't really anything to say about the dress, however, the gold bangle is to die for and almost makes this look complete. I think perhaps a dramatic lower neckline could have made this piece feel more like a look. Moving on.

7/11

Ryan Gosling in Gucci

So, we can see by now that Ryan isn't doing anything crazy on the red carpet, but he is showing other men that you don't need to reinvent fashion to look really good. Is it little boring? Maybe, but at least it's not just a black tuxedo. We have piping in silver sequins which is really fabulous and carries into the shirt as well which is a perfect touch. I am a fan of the shape of this jacket too, with those interesting lapels. I have to mention that he also wore another Gucci look to perform 'I'm Just Ken' which was hot 'Barbie" pink and covered in crystal drops, finished with gloves - which will always win me over - that would have landed him on my Best Dressed list if he had walked the carpet in it.

8/11

Greta Gerwig in Gucci

I think that directors at awards show try to take a slight backseat and let the actors and actresses have the attention. Here, Greta is in a column gown which makes her look like an award statue herself (very fitting). Sadly, that neckline isn't flattering at all and the entire look is the wrong colour for her, which just blurs into the background among all the other attendees. Unmemorable.

9/11

Da'Vine Joy Randolph in Louis Vuitton

Da'Vine has been a firm favourite all season so I was beyond excited to see her look today. I was so disappointed by this and honestly think it's her worst look to date - she still looks beautiful, so as far as 'worst looks' go, this is one of the best. I have multiple issues with this gown: something about the halter neck feel restricting and weird, a very unnatural place for the rest of the gown to fall down from. There is too much going on that all clashes: the chiffon matte cape, the shiny sequinned gown, the weird neckline and then huge ruffled shredded arm pieces. None of it makes sense? There is a strong fitted metallic vibe, clashing with a soft flowy chiffon vibe, clashing with a wild ruffled messy oversized vibe. The base dress itself just looks like a huge piece of fabric wrapped around someone carelessly, LV need to do better at dressing different body shapes if they're going to dress women like Da'Vine for events.

10/11

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture

This is really pretty. The shape is stunning, she looks like a cute little flower with skirt being petals that flow out. The low cut and wasp waist create the illusion of a tiny upper body and then flowing out into a grand skirt really leans into some kind of fantasy, I'm just not sure what it is (maybe Little Bow Peep core?). The black and white polka dot print is really pretty, but maybe not glamorous enough for the Oscars and is so dark and confusing that the shape of the actual dress is kind of lost. I also think that the shawl maybe wasn't meant to be asymmetrical?

11/11

Catherine O'Hara in Rodarte

I had to throw this in here because Moira rose is finally back in her favourite season: 'Awards'! Also, this Rodarte look isn't magical but looks better for what it is than many similar looks we have seen recently. Rachel Sennot... Take notes on the posing and styling here, as this seems to be you are going for on every red carpet XOXO

Our Middle Ground list is usually rather forgetful or dull, so I'm pleasantly surprised that even these fashion moments which didn't absolutely kill it tonight are still strong, intriguing looks in some way. Moving on, let's take a look at those attendees that walked right off of the carpet and onto my Worst Dressed list today.

Worst Dressed

1/11

Amelia Dimoldenberg in Gucci

I will ask once again, why are we inviting influencers to these events? Snd if they must be there, PLEASE can we put them in touch with better stylists. This look is hideous, the pink shade really washes her out to point of apparent illness, the narrower 'illusion' cut of the bodice does no favours as the body pokes out either side and the hips looks much larger than they are. The silver rhinestone/sequin piping around the bodice, straps and back is clashing with the pink and cheapening the entire look even more. Please burn this dress (and get someone more qualified or at least interesting to host interviews).

2/11

Eugene Lee Yang in custom Walter Mendez

This look has all the energy of a potential iconic fashion moment, but somehow, the execution just ruins it entirely. The jumbo-sized skirt is made from a thick, rigid fabric that has clearly creased and folded under its own weight - looking like cheap, old curtains - and this shape looks so unnatural and forced that there is no fantasy or illusion, just a big obnoxious skirt. The cropped jacket is also unnatural in the sense that it is so minuscule compared to the skirt but not in a way that creates an intriguing shape or silhouette, rather it just looks ill-fitted (don't even get me started on the sleeves). I think it also takes a rare, certain type of celebrity to pull off something so outrageous, and Eugene, today the face-card declined...

3/11

Taylor Zakhar Perez in Prada

This man is so gorgeous that he could wear a bin bag and I would still drool, but when you actually look at this suit, it is creasing, wrinkling and pulling all over, which tells me how poorly fitted it is. The nipped waist of the jacket is far too high - the jacket itself isn't cropped, nor is it long enough, leaving it looking a little shrunken - and the pants are clearly far too tight around the hips and thighs. Worst of all: THE ARMS!!! After all this, I don't mind the black back of that jacket collar, it stops the blue from completely swamping him.

4/11

Erika Alexander in Christian Siriano

Somebody at Christian Siriano hates this woman and wants to ruin her life at all costs.

5/11

Emily Blunt in Schiaparelli Haute Couture

Once again, we have a Schiaparelli Haute Couture piece that is just such a disappointment on a red carpet. Perhaps Daniel's work is so magical that you have to just appreciate it for what it is within the realm of his perfectly curated show, so for whatever reason the magic doesn't translate here. The underwear shape, created by silver sequins just makes absolutely no sense in this context, nor does it even look intriguing, let alone flattering. The floating straps are really fun and interesting to me, so no complaints there.

6/11

Bradley Cooper in Louis Vuitton

I am once again disappointed n Louis Vuitton - shock, horror - who have proved through Colman Domingo that they CAN slay menswear and make it fit impeccably, so why does that not translate into any of their other looks? This jacket is oversized but not to the shape or point where it feels intentional, the pants look like tights so Bradley appears to be like a literal jacket on stilts. Although I think this is a total disaster, I will say that I enjoy those turquoise buttons.

7/11

Regina King in Atelier Versace

I feel like the Versace Atelier only knows how to design and create looks for one very specific body and it shows very clearly here. They so often rely on the models body doing all the work in terms of curves and shape. This look lacks the shaping and structure that you assume comes from other Versace gowns, not really making an effort to contour the body. Also, for such a strong choice of colour, it is lacking in depth, there is just a lot of blank wasted material floating around. The cut and flow of the skirt just looks like an excess of fabric thrown at someone carelessly. The asymmetrical draping effect, created by the rows of sequins, don't seem to hug the body naturally, they are instead stitched into lines that deviate from the organic contours of the body.

8/11

Danielle Brooks in Dolce and Gabbana

As always I chose the best picture of the look, but there was no saving this from any angle. I hate the crystals overlaying the boning of the corset, they look cheap and unfinished. The black silk of the corset is slightly off as a match to the black of the skirt which are both a wrong match for the black silk cummerbund-bow and train, leaving a look that isn't cohesive. Beyond the fabrics, the leg slit looks uncomfortable and doesn't flatter Danielle. Next!

9/11

Michelle Yeoh in Balenciaga

I love Michelle but i just can't look past this atrocity of glittery tin foil. I will say that it is an intriguing gown, when you know the context: Demna created this as a couture piece, entirely from three vintage couture gowns that he sourced individually from Ebay! Quite the story, but what use is great inspiration or context if it results in an ugly dress. Everything here feels wrong, there is so much weight and material in the back that once again it looks like curtains. It is so full coverage that you can't read any shape or silhouette that is supposed to be created, as it's just one shiny mass. Finally, I always love a glove, but why put the world's ugliest watch right over it?

10/11

Billie Eilish in Chanel

It hurts to put billie on this list but I really hate this look. The blazer fits awfully, the white shirt seems to engulf her entire neck and I can't stand the ruffle down the centre, the length of the skirt is hideous and I can't stand any more Chanel tweed right now - especially with a clashing tweed bag over the top of it??! Those scrunched down knee-high white socks looks cheap and tacky, those two-tone maryjane heels with glossy toes don't work, even though they are very Chanel. The entire look reads as a Shein knock-off of Thom Browne. I really hope that billie doesn't form a connection with Chanel because this is hugely disappointing. I hate every part of it, but most of all the unforgivable fit of that blazer.

11/11

Lily Gladstone in Gucci and Joe Big Mountain

I really want to like this, I do, but I just feel that Lily just hasn't quite figured out her style yet.

One thing I have loved throughout this awards season is her consistent use of Native American jewellery and symbolism in every look. Here, she does look beautiful, but the purple velvet of the dull gown is so dark it seems like a blue-y black and clashes with the purple train and trim at the bust - which is entirely embroidered with purple crystals, even smaller white crystals and stitching in white thread - and I really don't like the shape of that cape. I do feel that with more context on this look and over time, I might actually cone to appreciate it a lot more, so perhaps the Worst Dressed list was a little harsh.

This was absolutely not the worst red carpet of the season, in any way, which makes me very happy - especially knowing that tonight's looks are likely to be even better - and rounds off awards season perfectly. Let's choose a best and worst dressed before we wrap up.

As a little PSA: sometimes my Worst 3 aren't actually worst looks of the event, I tend to choose those that are the biggest shock or disappointment - today, for example, Bradley didn't look awful, but with his resources, recent moments and the fact he's dating Gigi, he should have done so much better - hence my choices here.

Top 3

Worst 3

So, it wasn't all that bad?! A few disappointing moment but all in all, it was a really strong and successful red carpet. Hallelujah. Although I truly loved many of the looks this afternoon and haven't struggled to choose 3 favourites, I can't help but wonder what is possibly in store for the Vanity Fair After Party later on tonight (have the celebs all saved their show-stopping moments for this event?) I guess we'll find out in a few hours, so by the time you have read this, my next post will be up; go check it out.
